I would like to invite any and all who are interested to attend a unique
class at Boar's Head this weekend.
Lord Bohemond de Clare, Lord Udo and Viscountess Kassandra will be joining
me in a presentation of techniques from Medieval Manuals at Arms. These
techniques include wrestling, grappling, dagger, and two-handed sword as
taught by Masters at Arms from the 13th through 16th centuries. Lords
Bohemond and Udo have dedicated a great deal of time to researching and
practicing the techniques, and the class will provide an example of the rich
Western Martial Arts tradition that existed during the Medieval period.
The class will be held from 10-11 a.m. This is the early class slot, and
many who teach at this time fear that many of their potential students will
wake to late and miss their class. As this is only one of several very good
classes being taught at this time, I encourage you to bring your coffee and
enjoy all of them. The Martial Arts Class in no way conflicts with the
combat for the day, so this will be an excellent learning opportunity for
combatants of any persuasion, and for any who revel in learning the methods
and practices of the Medieval era.
See you there!
