My sophomore year in college in St. Louis, I met a freshman
who was standing outside the dorm one January evening,
staring at the snow. He'd spent all his life in Houston,
and quite literally had never seen the stuff fall. I think
he said he finally understood all those lost-in-the-snow-
and-freezing-half-to-death stories he'd been reading -
and we were undergoing a veritable blizzard that night,
all of maybe half-an-inch total.
ONe wonders, one does.
