A funny thing seems to have been happening to me of late. Every time I get
to thinking about someone I have not seen in a very, very long time and have
lost contact with, the next thing I know, I hear from them. Last winter, for
example, I for some odd reason couldn't stop thinking about an old college
boyfriend. All I knew of him was that he had married and last I'd talked to
him was when a mutual college friend died of cancer sometime in the
mid-80's. Well, all of a sudden, the phone rings one Saturday afternoon, and
who could it be but him!

Several days ago, I was in the shower realising that I had best replace my
rather tattered shower curtains. They had gotten torn up badly some years
back when the cat belonging to a college student across the hall here had
decided he liked the magnets in them and found ways to tear them out, and he
also liked the sound of plastic ripping, so he rather shredded those
curtains badly. I found myself recollecting that cat, and my neighbour, and
who do you think I got a Christmas card from today??

Another time, I had been thinking non-stop of someone who had been my best
friend from pre-school until high school graduation, when our lives went
separate directions. She went off to college in Iowa, I stayed here at went
to Kent State, and over the years, we lost touch. One afternoon, when I had
found myself once again thinking about her and wondering what ever came of
her, the phone rang and it was her!!

This is SO weird!! I wonder why that keeps happening.............?
