I'm not so sure that it was "imposed" so much as, ummm,
(What _I_ find disturbing is that there are still some

overlooked, sort of. There was no mandate from On High
saying "Women Shall Not Fight"; it was more of a thing
where a lot of men (not necessarily a majority) refused,
by themselves, to allow women on the field. After a bit
of pushing by a number of other people, the BoD finally
said "There's no official reason not to let 'em fight."
