Happy New Year! Imagine my surprise when I opened the Nov/Dec 1999 issue of
OhioSchools (a publication for NEA members in Ohio) and found Duke Sir Talymar
and Mistress Melisande being featured on pp 22-23. George and Jeanne Johnson
were being cited for their teaching of history and literature. There's a detailed
picture of SCA combat featuring a prince of the Middle (helm has a gold nasal and
gold eyebrow piece). The prince and another fighter in a plaid tabard are facing
at least seven fighters, some of whom are already engaged in one-on-one fighting.
It was interesting to read a different aspect of SCA folk.
