:) I am SO GLAD I did NOT allow a friend of mine to do that to the rest of
my court garb that I REALLY WANTED for a big event. It wasn't completed
because the pattern would have taken someone who knew what they were doing
about six hours, and I had no CLUE. Poor Cindy trying to help me-I think
she knew we were in trouble when I came across instructions to put a dart in
the bodice-yes, the pattern is modern, and I looked up and said "What's a
dart?" all innocent-like.
This was last May. Said garb is STILL not done-it is in a big messed up
pile. The day after "What's a dart?" came the evening when three, yes
THREE sewing machines died within about an hour while I was frantically
trying to work on what I knew how to do-(read "sewing the straight seams").
One of the machines was spitting sparks at me. I've since gotten a new
machine-one with lots of at this point useless bells and whistles. (I don't
have any idea what they may be for....) :)
Attempting to find out...
