Because there is always some self-appointed expert waiting in the wings
somewhere who will gleefully tell you how wrong your thing is no matter if
it's wrong or not. Most people would rather not sit around and have someone
less knowledgeable than they are tell them how they should be doing things.
Rubs some people's skin a bit thin.
Had you explained your motivation for looking at the back, I suspect that
you would have gotten a different response.
