I suspect it's more to do with the perceptions of the doee than the
attitudes of the doer. The majority of the people (across all demographics
just kind of avoid eye-contact). After that I get the occasional smartassed
remark from the under 30 set. The times I've really felt like someone
thought I was nuts and maybe even been a little offended, the offender was
usually my senior in attitude, if not age, and wanted the know why I hadn't
outgrown this by now and why I don't worry more about my lawn or snow tires
or life insurance or something like that.
