That's it, I'm convinced this computer has a mind of its own and will do as
it pleases whether I am using it or not. I've become a full fledged believer

Six months or so, flush with the money that I had from paying off my car, I
decided it was time to upgrade and buy a new computer to replace the old 486
I had built a few years ago. So, convinced by my assistant manager at work,
who had just purchased one himself, I bought this brand spanking new Gateway
Essential 433c.
Now, having built the old 486, naturally, it had
This one, on the other hand.......................sheesh! It just goes and
some..................interesting personality quirks. Myself and about 3 or
4 others had worked on it, so it had a rather unique personality. But it was
a sturdy little machine and never gave me an ounce of problems.
does as it pleases, whether I am at the keyboard or no! What awakened me
this morning was the modem dialing itself even though I did not tell it to.
I woke up and disconnected it.
It just re-connected again, without my prompting.
Weird........................well, who says comptuers are just dumb machines
that are only as smart as their operators? This thing has a mind of its own,
and darned if I can figure out what it wants or why. From the get-go, this
computer has been..............well, let us just say it's been an
interesting experience getting to know it and its weird personality.
