I was raised in an Italian Catholic parish growing up, and pre-Vatican II we
females were required to wear a long veil to church. My mother had two, a
long white one and a long black one for more somber occasions. I seem to
remember having a little white lace veil that I wore to church as a young
girl. Don't know whatever became of it.
