Happy New Year All!
The SCA creates a village? I honestly can say that in the past 32
years I've never heard the SCA described in that way. Back when I
joined in 1970, almost all events were tournaments (the rest were
feasts) and the thing we were trying to re-create was the life of the
nobility. Thus everyone was of gentle status unless they insisted
otherwise.
