The flip side of this is that I wear the tokens and such that I recieve as a
way of acknowledging their receipt, a tacit ongoing "thank you for noticing
me" gesture. I am one of those behind the scenes people who blend in *with*
the scenery and like getting the occaisional recognition, I would be upset if
I did lose one of the tokens.
Just ask my Baroness how frantic I was when I couldn't find what I'd done
with a baronial award scroll given me just two months before. I did find it,
under one shhet of paper on my work desk.{ Where I sit everyday to do
computer stuf...]
I'm one of those folks who do have the scrolls framed and yes, I'll admit
to having nearly every single site token I've ever been given. I find them
to be great memory joggers, that doesn't mean I wear them all the time, they
just go in a special place once the event is over. If I wore all the
medallions I was entitled to I'd be unable to breathe, especially if they
were all metal 8-) I usually only wear one or two and only if they match my
garb. I'll wear my baronial gewgaws to baronial gatherings but leave them
home when I go out of town simply because few outside the group know what
they are, or care.
