A call for help goes out.... Rousing herself groggily from a two-year
sleep, Wonderpest hears the call and leaps into action! But THIS time,
remarkably enough, she NOT asking for donations or money <GASP>! WHATEVER
could be the emergency which has awakened the Wonderpest?!?

>Apparently, I am grumpy today. Apologies if this comes across badly, or

>Why, oh why, is it every time in the past *year* (maybe longer) that I have

Well, I'm not in charge of the website but I *can* clear up one thing -- the
reason why no classes are yet posted (except for two in the College of
History). [CAPS below for emphasis, not shouting.]

I have a new job!! And it's as part of the RUM administration. I'm the new
Dean of the College of History. And I've come to discover that lots of the
classes come on board very late, often (but not always) as a result of lots
of pleading and wheedling and gentle arm-twisting by the Dean of that
College. Consequently, they get posted fairly late.

We have a HAPPY exception this term in the College of History. THL Johnnae
llyn Lewis has already contacted me and volunteered to teach TWO classes --
"Cookery Books Then and Now: Society Favourites Through the Decades" and
"The Book in Hand: On Bibliomania and better ways to collect and find the
books (new or used) you want and need". She has also GRACIOUSLY agreed to
only teach one class if I am DELUGED with offers from other people DYING to
teach classes.

Unfortunately, as of this writing, I STILL need at least TEN MORE classes to
fill the History track. [Prepare for the pitch....]

All of those of you out there who have interest in history (guess what -- to
a certain extent, that is ALL of us!), whether of the Middle Ages and
Renaissance or SCA history, let's hear about it! On the 'Bridge! Let us
know what YOUR wish list is for History classes. Maybe someone out there
will say, "HEY! I know about that! I can TEACH people something about
that!" I've seen PLENTY of discussion on this list

Got a class that you've been wanting to teach? Been looking for somewhere
to teach it? taught one at the local level but want to share your
information with MORE people? RUM's the thing for YOU!

You don't feel like teaching a class is for you but you know someone who has
some rockin' historical information to share?? ENCOURAGE THEM to send in
something!

The next RUM is 22 November, hosted by the Proto-incipient Shire of Anach na
Naoi n-Duileach and the Shire of Swordcliffe at the Univeristy of Illinois
at Springfield. Let's all put our heads together and fill up the History
track FIRST! [Mwahahahahahaha!!!!!!!]

I can be reached at <rosamund99@hotmail.com> for those of you who want to
VOLUNTEER (volunteer early, volunteer often!) directly to me instead of to
the 'Bridge. Operators are waiting to take your call!!
