Ah, the intelligence of the television press! Near Akron, Ohio, the
Ohio Mart demo is taking place with the SCA as a participant. So,
on comes weatherperson Eileen McShay (or some such spelling) to
burble about the medieval folk. Says she, "They're 'acronists' or
something like that". The male anchor, back in the studio says
"Anachronists?" Eileen burbles on and says "Well, they're not from
Akron" and she giggles. Sigh-h-h-h.
Next weather segment she's back with Alexander of Hawkwood who
demonstrates shooting an arbalest. She gets the name right this
time. They'll have a nice cold, damp day for the demo! The tents
looked good, the wool clothes looked good, and Eileen thought that
with the cold weather their garb would be just right.
