This is a judgement call, actually. There are times when top posting works
best and others, like this, when it's better to reply at the bottom. I do
believe that clipping of messages will alleviate concerns about top or
bottom placement.

So, let me re-iterate: do clip those messages to just the important thought
you wish to reply to or comment on.
