I know blood meal keeps away rabbits, they don't like the smell, not sure
how deer would react. But like was mentioned, borrow a dog for a while,
that would defenatly make them think twice about coming near your roses.

Anyone want to hunt in a Cleveland suburb? Two does and two fawns
regularly munch the flora in our yards. About 10 days ago, _five_ showed
up, one with antlers. Not content with snacking in the back of the yard,
they came right up under my bedroom window. When one started to nibble the
leaves on the rose bush that the Bronze Ring folk gave me, I ran outside
and chased them as far as I could. City Hall says they won't do anything
about the problem we have here.
