Re: [Mid] National Donut Day!

I'm coming into this thread late because I broke my only pair of glasses a
few days ago and could not see to respond to e-mails. I have a pair of
"fake" drug store readers until my frames can be repaired (34 year old 12K
gold rims, and I found a place that specialises in repairing antique gold
glasses, to boot!), so I can now more or less see, although not well, but
enough to be able to make out words on a computer screen and in a book.
(Although these danged things are giving me a major headache because it's
not my prescription tri-focals!)

Anyway, yes, Krispy Kreme donuts ROCK! My faves are the plain cake donuts
with the chocolate icing on top, the perfect companion for one of their cups
of coffee! There used to be a little donut shop here in the neighbourhood
called "Palcho's" that I never tried, and now it's a hot dog joint with
AWESOME French fries.

I haven't had any Krispy Kreme donuts since I got unceremoniously yanked
from working bookmobiles and stuck on permanent in office duty in February
when they hired someone to basically take over my job (with no warning, I
might add). Which is why I am resigning the minute I find new employment. 22
years, down the drain.......(sigh) what a way to end a career that I had
hoped to retire from in another 8 years....
