Greetings,

I know I've sent this out a number of places, but I don't remember sending it here yet, sooooo....

Greetings from the Midrealm Historian,

I hope this missive finds you in good spirits and pleasant surroundings.
The Midrealm Historian's office will be hosting the First Annual SCA History
Night at this year's Pennsic. Tentatively scheduled for the Wednesday of War
week, we're planning on a celebration not only to honor our historic past but
also mark the 40th Anniversary of the SCA. More information can be found
here:

Right now, I'm on a quest for speakers and performers who'd be willing to
share bits of history, either from personal experience or retelling of tales,
singing of songs, or what have you. It could be anything from nifty things
you've done on the battlefield, to interesting changes in an office you've held,
to the SCA equivalent of the urban legend (everyone remember when they used
to say if Pennsic reached 10,000 attendees, they'd have to declare it a
town?).

Anyway, I'm sending this request to a cross section of gentles I happen to
have email addresses for, as a more personal request. If you think you might
have something to contribute, please let me know. And if not, if you could
forward this missive to someone you think might be interested, I would greatly
appreciate it.

I'd also like to ask if any of you might have a small piece of SCA history
you'd like to contribute or loan to our growing Reliquary collection. This
can be anything you like, really, from a memorable site token, to a worn piece
of armor, to a piece of poetry or prose. If there was an accompanying story
or explanation behind it, so much the better. We're not asking for anything
of value...quite the opposite, actually. What we're looking for is something
or things of sentimental value to display and commemorate our past.

I can be contacted at this email address, or at sandymsmith@gmail.com_
(mailto:sandymsmith@gmail.com) , if you think you might be interested. And thank
you for your time and consideration. I remain,

In service to the Midrealm,

Lady Meliora Leuedai de Ardescote
Midrealm Historian
