The event has been moved 187 miles south from the other site. (about 35
miles from Nashville and about 130 miles South of the Kingdom Border.
The old site was about 60 miles North of the Kingdom border and about
10 miles from dead center between the nearest two groups.)
This is the right of the hosting Kingdom and group. (from Atlanta, GA)
Next year it will be up to the (Mid) Barony Flame to host it, then back
to whoever puts in a bid in Meridies, then back to (Mid) Val d'
Azure/Dragonsmark, then to whoever in meridies, etc...
(Go to www.borderraids.com for a chart and a link to the current event
website)
For years many Meridians feel that it has been too far North for them. I
personally disagree with that but will attend the event anyway because I
know that the Flame will not host it there next year and my group will
not host it there in 3 years.
Just for everyone's information. Meridies and Glenn Abhain both have
lands in KY and the state border is NOT the Kingdom border anymore.
Bowling Green, KY and every county that touches it belong to Meridies.
I will drive the extra couple of hours this year and will endeavor to
find a nice place nearest the border for future Border Raids. I haven't
heard anything about the camp being primitive at all. I do know that any
group can go and set up early if they want to.
I would also like to see as many fighters there as possible so we can
kick their butts even if they move the event into their backyard.
