I have a question: why do these shows need federal funding?
I ask this because I see so much merchandising out there (heck, my
kids have tons of Elmos and things like that), that money must be
being made from that. Books, videos, games, toys...all that stuff.
So why isn't that enough to support the programs?

p.s. And please, do NOT assume that I support the cutting of these
funds. That is not true at all. However, the question needs to be
asked, and I wouldn't mind a fact based answer. Thanks!
