But NOT every free webhost will allow you to "offlink" or "hotlink"
images. Both mean to take a image hosted on one server and display it
on a site somewhere else. Geocities, yahoo, tripod, will NOT let you
offlink/hotlink - won't work no matter how much you try. So there has
burgeoned a number of little services that will host images for you so
you can use them for things like emails or forums - you just have to
download them to your computer then back up to the service offering to
host it.
If you use one of these services, like Image Shack or PhotoDump (linked
right on the pages) you can UPLOAD the graphic to THIER servers and
even give you the code you need for emails or forums. Just copy paste
and place THAT url in your emails, webpages etc... they allow you to
use their service in exchange for a link (usually they link your
graphic back to their webapge)
Some of them might require you make a free account, some will let you
store more than one image, some (like flickr.com) even will let you
have way cool photo galleries allowing you to have many images you can
show elsewhere online.
I really have to do a Web 101 class sometime.
