Thanks for mentioning this! I loved this book when it first crossed my desk at work, but never dreamed it would win the Newbery, which most often goes to novels. For those of you who have a good children's department at your local library, RUN THERE NOW and place a reserve on this title. The writing is truly outstanding, and the illustrations are lovely as well.
