Is not the word "curtain" used to describe other separations as well?
a stage, a dressing area, a door way, a window.... etc
The idea of dividing of or separating has been around for a very long time.
We can divide the audience from a stage but we can't separate the elements
from a room via an opening the same way?
or even use the same word to describe such?
