Anyone heading to Chicago from the East this weekend, intended routes I-94 or the tollroad...
Please be careful. National weather is not giving as accurate a report as local weather....the front may have moved east, but the winds are bringing in the Lake Effect snow, with periods of blizzard-like conditions at times.
Heading around the southern tip of Lake Michigan may be treacherous.
Please Drive Carefully.

PS I'm a certified COWARD for winter driving. I've been in three winter wrecks or very near-misses, including flipping my Chevette on its hood... holy cow.... January 15, 1985. I still remember it. Sitting upside down in my car, "Mike and the Mechanics" playing on the radio...my bottle of Sprite fizzing above my head (I thought the car was about to explode). I rolled down the passenger window and with help, dug myself out of the car. I was very lucky, I had four 50-pound bags of salt in the back, and as I went over, they kinda slid up the side of the car to the roof. They -could- have all slid forward and pinned me against the steering wheel.
Funny thing. That car never did run the same way after being turned upside down.
I earned the name "Flip O'Neill" from my locals :-)
