Hello everyone,

As per my frequent advertisements, I am spearheading the Calf-to-Codex
project, to build a medieval book (the Codex Mediterraniensis) from the
ground up. I would like to announce that I am taking submissions for
creating a text for the book. I am looking for poems and tales, either
about medieval events or (especially) about Midrealm personalities and
events. Please consider using period formats (virelai, sonnet, Norse
meters, etc). I will consider songs, if they can be recited well in
case the reader doesn't know the tune. I am looking for work that will
stand the test of time, that people 20 or 30 years from now will find
interesting and inspiring. My prime example is "Song of the
Shieldwall." It is short, compelling, well-written, about a historical
subject, has a great rhythmic pace (you can march to it), and you don't
need to know the tune to perform it well.

Keep in mind that we will be writing this out by hand. I will take
compositions of a maxiumum of 80 lines (20 lines per page, five words
per line), and on any subject so long it's medieval or SCA-historical,
and will hold up twenty-thirty years from now. I'd prefer some poems or
tales about our earlier reigns -- not necessarily about kings or
queens, but about personalities or events.

I encourage those who can collect oral histories, to submit some
recorded memories as well!

And I would like to invite anyone who wants to be on an editorial team
to contact me!
