Seeing your lovely garden reminded me of friends of mine who always
maintained the most marvelous vegetable garden. Every year a co-worker
of the wife's would clean out the winter's worth of rabbit "pellets" and
home would come several of those large white buckets of fertilizer. The
husband would work those pellets into the soil and mixing in the compost
they kept. After all those years, that soil could literally be worked
with an eating fork. And the veggies! Forget miracle grow. And he used
marigolds and other natural insect repellents. It was a beautiful site.
And some of the best eating I can remember.
The husband has passed now. I don't know if the son or daughter are
doing any gardening for mom. But I would certainly use that garden spot
as a major selling point of that house when the time comes.
