"Officer that assists new members learn
about the SCA."
Greetings unto the wonderful populace of the Midlands from your Regional Chatelaine, Ellen of the Scholars.
I know many of you will be organizing and participating in public demos during the upcoming summer months. Thank you for your participation! You are our front-line ambassadors to the public. Your smile and a friendly, “Welcome to the SCA!” create a good first impression. Your efforts are truly appreciated, not only by me, but by the teachers, librarians, parents, and children who attend your demos. It’s good to know we have such a strong core of people in the Midlands willing to organize and carryout demonstrations of what we do in the SCA.
Even if you aren’t able to attend demos, you may still be the first contact a newcomer has with the SCA. Thank you for being an active part of our organization and welcoming the newcomers who attend your meetings, events, and activities!
If you are a newcomer to the SCA yourself, welcome! Please feel free to contact me or your local chatelaine and group officers. We’ll be happy to share whatever information we have or point you toward someone nearby who can help you learn more, locate activities in your area, and get you started.
Welcome to the Midlands!
