Personages of the Barony
Now you know somewhat of the land and its peoples. But what of those of the great and powerful who live and have lived here? A great many Kings and Queens have come from the Middle Marshes, many bearing the names of ancestors.
Kings & Queens from the Middle Marches
Andrew I of Seldom Rest and Duchess Anne de Fountain I reigned from May 13, 1972 to October of 1972 and the Kingdom and the Barony prospered.
Andrew II of Seldom Rest and Duchess Anne de Fountain II ruled the Kingdom of the Middle from May 12, 1973 unto the 13th day of October of that same year.
Talymar gan y Llwyn, first of that illustrious name, and Valmai Leannon Sidhe were crowned in 1980 on the 3rd day of May, 1980 at Grey Gargoyles.
Tragedy befell Andrew III before his crowning on May 8, 1982. His Princess, Anne de Fountain, the third of that enchanting name, abdicated before wearing the Crown of the Middle Kingdom and so it was that Sharra de la Praderia Blanca ascended the Throne to rule with Andrew III.
Talymar gan y Llwyn II and his exemplary Queen, Eislinn the Patient, ruled well this land of the Dragon from mid-October of 1982 unto mid-May of 1983.
Emrys of Gwyntarian crowned Emmelyne o'Gwennydd as his Queen on the 4th of October, 1986 in the Cleftlands.
Talymar gan y Llwyn III and Eislinn II were seated upon the Dragon Thrones on May 9, 1987. Though frequently ill with a pitiless disease, there is no Queen before or since who inspired such loyalty and love from her people, save perhaps, her predecessor of the same name and Queen Kenna Harvè. The Award of the Dragon's Tooth is given for dramatic deeds on the field of combat on behalf of the Kingdom or leadership in melee combat above and beyond what is expected. Such was Queen Eislinn's inspiration to the soldiery of the Midrealm that this award was given to her by Acclamation of the Populace of the Kingdom she loved and served so capably and completely. An entire Kingdom wept at her passing.
Mid-May in 1990 saw the Coronation of Comar gyr Mirand and his Queen, Lisa Dolorosa in Pentamere.
Comar gyr Mirand II and Lisa Dolorosa II came to rule the Midrealm on the 12th day of October in 1991, raising in good time, heirs to the Kingdom which they taught well.
Boldly winning the Crown came Finn Herjolfsson and she who so inspired him, Garlanda de Stanas. The jeweled diadems were placed upon their brows in the North Woods, 10 October 1992.
Finn Herjolfsson II and Garlanda de Stanas II arose in Fenix like that fabled bird to take the Crown of the Middle Kingdom in mid-May of 1994.
Edmund of Hertford I came to the Throne to Crown Kateryn Bronwyn of Glouchester I as his Queen on May 11, 1996. It was a time of great deeds and pageantry. They eventually had heirs to rule the Midrealm after them.
The Dragon Thrones were again the seat of Edmund of Hertford, second of that lineage, and Kateryn Bronwyn of Glouchester II. They were Crowned with great ceremony on the first day of March, 1997.

Some Households in the Barony
'Tis mete now to speak of some of the households this Barony has sheltered, for this, too, is a form of recognition. Two of the largest and longest-lived households are Holt Herotus, founded by Duke Talymar and House Vexillarius, headed by Duke Comar. Many Knights have come from these households and will continue to do so, I am certain. Another form of household was the residential wherein folk would gather together in the same dormitory or house. Such was Zusammenheit (togetherness), three ladies sharing a dorm on the BGSU campus in the early days of the Marches. Another residential was House Anthrax in Cleftlands. This Household was disbanded when most or all of its members graduated and/or moved away. There was the egalitarian House Honeybear in Gwyntarian that formed because the members were alike in so many ways and enjoyed one another's company. One Household, Caer Camwydd, was much the same in composition as Anthrax, but it existed for over ten years. When it disbanded around AS XVIII or XVIV, not one original member still lived there.
