Greetings, with 'Faith and Honor':
To their Excellencies; 'Baron Lord Lamorak' and 'Baroness Lady Isabeau', and to all the Populous,
'Lords and Ladies' of the Barony of the Middle Marches! I, Thomas Edmund de Montgomeri, wish
to convey to all my fellow Gentles, Lords and Ladies, with much Honor and Joy, what it is being new
Baronial Fencing Champion, what it Manifests to me:
After the hard fought Tourney, I 'Thomas' emerged as Winner of the Position of the new 'Baronial
Rapier Champion'. I have found this Station, so highly profound of 'Honor, Loyalty, and Respect',
that I so consider it to be the pinnacle of my SCA experience, as of date. After two years of Rapier
Class in Service to the Barony, I find this Achievement and all of the Responsibilities that come
with it, the most exciting, Honorable, and rewarding endeavor I have yet accomplished, and look
forward to Serving and enjoying the rest of my Term! Discharging the Duties of this 'Position of
Great Esteem', in the List and in my humble capacity at the Baronial Court is a circumstance of the
greatest Honor, Respect, and Loyalty I have yet found, serving with the other Honorable and respective
Champions. Yet I cannot hardly claim these 'qualities' or 'Service' entirely to my own doings, but
find in the Truest Retrospect, that it is quite the opposite! I may have fought the good 'Fight',
but the real 'Honor' here goes to all the 'wonderful' inspiring Lords and Ladies, of all positions,
in Our Great Barony that gave me the Courage, Fortitude, and Knowledge to fulfill this small part of
'Our' Living Dream. To all these 'Lords and Ladies' I humbly expound all my Thanks, Gratitude, and
Respect. And to complete this matter I must also add my great Thanks and Gratitude to 'Warder Marco'
and 'Lady Acelin' who placed the Rapier in my hand so 'Aptly', directing me with their invaluable
skills as Great Instructors and with their considerable prowess with the Sword. Also to Lady Elo
for her steadfast support and continued confidence in me! Taken together and as 'One' it is my Honor
to serve all personages of 'Our Great Barony of the Middle Marches', and to 'Serve and Represent',
Their Excellencies; 'Baron Lord Lamorak' and 'Baroness Lady Isabeau' as your most humble, proud, and
obedient Rapier Champion.........in all 'Faith and Honor'........Thank-you!!
