August 2008 Greetings to all who hold our youth dear, Fall's seasonal change is upon us and change is one constant upon which we can all count. Just as the youth officers of the Midrealm were adjusting to the youth policy and background checks, a new and improved model has come out. For full details, please see the Seneschal report. The short version is as follows. All warranted youth officers must have a background check. A warranted local Minister of Youth (warrant paperwork submitted) must have a check. All Youth Marshals, because they are warranted, must be checked as well. To hold an official SCA youth activity, the two deep policy is in place (two unrelated adults), but there is no longer the requirement that one have a background check. Please remember that the background check system requires that you request your forms from the Kingdom Seneschal, the paperwork is issued from her office and approval from her office is necessary before society processes the request.
