REMINDERS FOR SENESCHALS AND EVENT STEWARDS: (See Corpora I-II)
Society events are: tournaments, feasts, and other such
activities including educational events involving one-time
classes, university organizations, demos and meetings where we
share skills and discuss business of the group.
All Society events:
- must be sponsored by (full status) branches
- registered with the sponsoring branch seneschal
- publicized to at least the membership of that branch
- have one Society (paid) member appointed by sponsoring
branch in attendance and responsible for general conduct of
the event:
- If event involves only one type of Society activity,
the responsible member is the appropriate branch
officer or another member designated by that officer
- If event includes a variety of activities, the
responsible members is the branch seneschal or another
member designated by the seneschal
- Events including Society combat or combat-related
activities must have at least one warranted marshal,
designated by the branch marshal, in attendance and
responsible for those activities
Anyone may attend a Society event provided they:
- wear an attempt at pre-17th century dress
- conform to the provisions of the By-Laws and Corpora
- comply with any other requirements (like site fees or
waivers) which may be imposed by the Society
- behave as a lady or gentleman
(Note: the responsible officers may exempt attendees at business meetings and
informal classes from the requirement to wear pre-17th century dress.)
Special Requirements:
Royal Courts which include -
- formal actions and announcements with long term impact
- presentation of awards and titles
- proclamation of law
- appointment of officers
- the establishment and advancement of branches
- Crown & Coronet Lists
- Coronations & Investitures
- may only occur at Society events for which the date, time and
place have been published in advance in the appropriate kingdom
newsletter. (Note: deputy officers and officers below
principality level need not be appointed at published events.)
