Seneschal’s Report
Greetings Rimsholt!
I’d like to take this opportunity to congratulate everyone for a spectacular Border War! The few minor problems we encountered were handled with grace and care, and by all accounts, our guests from humble to Royal enjoyed great revelry.
I cannot thank the our legion of volunteers for this event enough. From Autocrat to trash collector, from Friday morning to Sunday evening, the Canton of Rimsholt, and our close friends from near and far proved a force to be reckoned with.
Vivat! and Huzzah! to the fencers, fighters, archers and artisans of Andelcrag and our allies for a tremendous showing! And a most gracious salute to our worthy opponents from Northwoods for a well joined fray!
Now I will ask you to put your talents to one last task. If you have thoughts about Border War for next year, write them down now! This is our biggest event, and thus should never be far from our minds.
Yours in Service,
Armand

Minister of Arts & Sciences Report
Greetings unto the populace,
I hope everyone is enjoying their summer so far!
The A&S classes at Border War seemed to be better attended this year, and a good time was had by all.
We are still doing classes at the JoAnn Fabrics behind Studio 28 on the fourth Thursday of the month at 7PM. If anyone has a class topic they would like to see covered, please contact THL Alaina Blackram or me. We can do more than just garb!
Lady Harley is my new deputy, so you can also contact her if you need help with anything A&S related.
Lastly, I have the Canton pattern library. If anyone wants a particular pattern or wants to peruse it, I usually bring it to the Thurs. classes. I can also bring it to canton meetings; just drop me a line and let me know if it is wanted.

Chronicler’s Report
Greetings unto the Populace of Rimsholt.
I would like my first order of business to thank Lady Harley the Herbalist for her dedicated service for the past two years as Chronicler.
As my second order of business, I would like to make a request of the good people of Rimsholt to send articles of any type (A&S, humor, cartoons, you name it), pictures of events or activities, or anything you think worthy of publication on these pages. These pages can serve as a good forum for you to “show what you know” without having the inconvenience and angst of actually standing in front of a group of your friends and actually teach a class.
In service to the Canton and Midrealm,
Lord Richard vanUtrecht

Images and Words from Border War XXII

A perfect day for fighting.

Sir Redwald and Jasper form up with other Andelcrag shields and poles.

Who said the big boys can have all the fun? Conner and Zeke, Knights in training?

Pirates holding their ship against the assault of the city guard.

But not all is about war....
An open letter...
Hello.
I was not sure who to write to about Border War so I thought I would try to write to the respective Barons and anyone else who seemed to be in charge.
I want to commend you all on a wonderful event. It was my first major event and only my second overall.
I was very pleased and even surprised at the level of participation and the level of organization. I will be coming back to this event in the future. And likely some events that your people put on at other times and
places.
I wish I could single out the kind gentleman who helped me out. He was from a area west of the site and he was familiar with the area. I had got lost and was very ill from the heat and all the walking. I had no water with me. He walked me to the path I needed to take and got me to where I needed to get to. If he had not come along I would have had to call 911. I was in bad shape.
Again I want to thank you for the work your people put into this. It was great.

The Funny pages
And now for something silly.... (if you find puns, silliness, and other such “fun” not to your liking, then stop reading now. Od and Richard “let their hair down” as it were. You have been warned!)
Gnome World Rapier Handbook

What is the Gnome World Rapier Handbook? What is it for? Ye Flippin’ Gods, Good Gentle! It’s only the history and rules of the traveling Rimsholt fencing “prize” (The Roaming Gnome). The current holder
challenges another for the right to beat them and make them the current Gnome of Rimsholt and therefore wear the Gnome hat for the rest of practice. For more history of the Gnome prize, see the full text at http://www.midrealm.org/rimsholt/gnome.doc
Some daring chroniclers and photographers have captured images of these strange creatures recently along the river that runs through the heart of Rimsholt.

Lord Richard is made the “Prima Gnoma”

Lord Od is the BarGnomial Champion of Andelcrag!

Gnome Diego bows to the assembled gallery.

A rare sight! It’s not a myth! A female Gnome! Gnomelette the Reluctant Gnome

Could it be? The One True Gnome? Is Wolfgang von Gnome the most Gnomish of them all? Stay tuned true believers.
