General Interest and Announcements
This group is for items pertaining to the shire of Rokkehealden and it's members. Anyone is welcome to join.
The oak stands alone, along a road in a place long ago cleared for farming.
The tree holds court here on a rise where two old roads cross. You figure that
this tree was a bit more than a sapling when the Romans built this road, long
years ago. Off to one side, the strange human-made bee hives, apiaries, hum and
mutter as the bees come and go to the clover fields beyond. Beyond the fields of
clover lie fields of reaped grain, gathered up into golden stacks. At the
horizon is a smallish keep, perhaps the dwelling of a minor Lord or Duke.
Directly under the tree, tucked up near the trunk, is a largish stone building.
Sunlight splashes off the slate roof and a small wisp of smoke rises through the
chimney and through a gap in the branches. The path to the door is worn cobble
stone and dirt. The door itself is a slab of dark wood, bound with iron.
Overhead, a sign, the newest item here displays a bottle and a hive.
For people who live in Illinois and are interested in the Middle Ages. It
functions as a combination message board, discussion group, information center
and general hang-out.
The Village Green of the Midlands
Here the SCAdian folk of the Midlands may post broadsides to promote their practices and events or they may poll the populace on matters of import. The village elders do not condone any for-profit commercial enterprises operating here.
