Middle Kingdom Page School
The Middle Kingdom Page School promotes the acquisition of skills and knowledge of the Middle Ages. It develops the leadership skills of the young people within the Kingdom in order to foster a lifelong interest and involvement in the SCA.
What is the Page School
The Page School exists to give recognition and credit to young members for many of the things that they do...helping out at events, feasts, water bearing, taking classes, participating in the Arts & Sciences, or participating in the Youth Combat Program (boffer, rapier, armored, etc.).The Page School also encourages young members to do more by offering classes and opportunities in activities they may not yet have participated in.
Who can join the Page School?
All youth of the Kingdom are welcome to participate in classes held by the Page School. However, students or their parents must complete a registration form to be officially enrolled. Credit records will only be kept on those students who are officially enrolled in the Page School.
How does the Page School work?
Young members will be encouraged to do their best, and be given the best opportunity to attain educational guidance, involvement, and knowledge in any area in which they express interest. The only requirements toward this learning are participation and effort. Students are not graded on their work. Parents are encouraged to take an active interest in their child's learning process and are welcome to help, watch, and join in. While students are encouraged to do their own work without parents doing it for them, parental encouragement and support are still important forms of involvement.
All activity (classes, service, and projects) within the SCA will count toward a student's achievements.
