Irish Myth and Legend

10am
Brendan O Corraidhe If you’re a fan of things Celtic, you’ve probably heard the names Finn Mac Cumail, Cuchullain, Maeve, Conor Mac Nessa, Nuada of the Silver Hand, Tuatha de Dannan, Tain bo Culaigne, and so forth.  This class will string them all together for you in their proper sequence and arrangement.  While we’ll cover some supernatural and semi-supernatural figures such as the Morrigan and the Sidhe, this class is not a primer on Celtic gods and goddesses. Rather, it focuses on the intersection of Irish history with Irish hero-tales.  Handout
