The Pronunciation of Old English

A basic explanation of meter and style, an overview of the different genres, examples of some of the genres given in translation.

Recorder/Flute Performance Masterclass

Each student will bring a musical piece to play on the  transverse flute or recorder. They will received individualized  instruction on interpretation, technique, and enhancing  practice.
  Lunch Medieval stringed musical instrument construction (luthering)

Description:  The student will learn how to draft plans for an instrument, then draw the plans. (Class limit 6 persons)
Music Pedagogy in the Aural Tradition

This class offers parents and interested adults, an  introduction to music pedagogy using the mother-tongue  method by Shinichi Suzuki. Musicians in the SCA could learn  from Dr. Suzuki. Aspects of his aural instruction methods  apply techniques used since before the Middle Ages. Dr.  Suzuki's methods can be adapted for adult learners as well.
Medieval Music Performance: Theory and Hands-on

The student will learn the path necessary toward medieval musical performance through lecture and listening, then practical instruction on instruments (bring your own instruments)
