We consider our merchants to be a valued and essential part of the SCA family, and wish to promote this sense of family and community. Your participation is greatly appreciated! In lieu of the $20.00 merchant/site fees, you may opt to donate merchandise with a retail value of at least $25.00 to help supply prizes for the raffle and the various competitions (this would be our preference).

Please read the following carefully!
--Merchants may check in and set up beginning at 12 Noon Friday, June27th. Your initial check-in will be taken care of at troll, after which, we request that you also check-in at the merchanting area with the merchant steward for your space assignment and other last-minute instructions.
--Merchants must arrive on site by 11am Saturday for their pre-registrations to be honored. Space on Merchants Row will be assigned on a first-reserved basis. Any pre-registered merchants arriving after 11am risk having their space assigned to other merchants. We encourage you to make your pre-registrations right away to help us prepare for your needs.
--Merchants may stay open until 9 pm. Vendors are responsible for their own stuff. The event staff, the Shire of Talonval, and/or the Society for Creative Anachronism, Inc. is not liable for any theft, moving, or damages incurred. You must provide your own shade pavilion, displays, tables, chairs, etc. This is an outdoor site.
--Collection and payment of Michigan state sales tax are the merchant's responsibility. The event staff, the Shire of Talonval, and/or the Society for Creative Anachronism, Inc. is not liable for any merchants state sales tax responsibilities. We encourage all merchants to add ambiance to their booths with table coverings and banners. Anything you do to enhance the display helps increase sales. Vendors must agree to remove from display any items objectionable to the autocrat or merchant steward.
--We ask that items such as the following not be blatantly displayed or sold: Native American items, D & D/role-playing items (Magic cards, etc.); Gothic/Victorian clothing; obviously non-period or non-SCA appropriate items presented in a blatantly mundane fashion. No bulk displays of t-shirts or other mundane items are allowed. Display one, sell from back stock or take special orders. If you have questions about your merchandise, ask the merchant steward. No one wants surprises. These are very similar to jurying guidelines used at Pennsic, so chances are good if you can't sell an item at Pennsic, don't bring it to the Siege.
--We ask that knives, swords, or anything considered a weapon not be sold to minors. Check ID. When in doubt, please don't make the sale.
--Sales of food items are not permitted for legal reasons. Pop, tea, coffee, and pastry sales are restricted to the Lunch Tavern. Call if you have questions.
--If a pre-paid merchant is unable to show up at the Siege for any reason, they may request their monies be refunded after the event. If you will not be able to attend, please contact us before June 23rd. This will help us in our planning for the event.
--NSF checks. If you pass us a bad check, we will request you remit via money order, including the NSF charges levied by our bank, within 30 days of notification. Failure to make good on bad debt with us will guarantee that you do not sell with us again.
