Old Business:
•Halloween
Parade
Aine reported that she has attempted to call the Jaycees several times
and has left messages, but they have not returned her calls. If we don't
have an application by next week, we won't march in the parade.
•Hastings
- 10/16
Anyone who wants is invited to tour the event site on Wednesday, October
6 at 6:00. Camp Mowana will loan us bales of straw, with the stipulation
that we purchase any we break. Truffie is ordering the wooden disks
for site tokens and will be painting those. Duvessa is going to purchase
the red, gold, & white ribbon for the tokens. Truffie & Leah
are going to work out the logistics of getting her trailer to Giles'
house to pick up pavilions.
•Cook's
Symposium - 12/11
Giles' reported that there had already been some interest in teaching
classes. Leah said she had several classes she could teach. Ulf offered
to teach Celtic Knotwork.
•Encampment
at the Castle V - June 17-19, 2005
Faoileann brought the contract for Leah to sign and the deposit check
of $100 was cut & signed.
New business:
Leah reported that
Brice le Corbet, Baronial Seneschal, had called to ask if a Baronial
meeting could be held at Hastings. The consensus was that it was ok.
Peter asked if
he could continue to receive the newsletter. There were no objections.
Faoileann reported
that Peter had made many donations to the shire, including his 10x20
garage with walls, coolers, cooking pans & utensils, a roaster,
and much more. Faoileann made a motion that more tubs be purchased to
store these items. Giles & Peter seconded. The motion was passed.
A member asked
if people who work at events should pay the site fee. It was pointed
out that since the shire is still recovering from its financial disaster
of two years ago and since it has lost a small amount of money on the
last two events, this is not a feasible practice right now. The suggestion
was tabled for further discussion in the future.
There being no
other business, the meeting adjourned at 7:55 PM and work began on the
tablecloth. |
