Old Business:

•Hastings -
We lost about $200 on Hastings this year, mainly due to the cold, windy weather. The question of continuing this event was brought up. Some suggestions for improving attendance included renting a lodge for warming upand for feast, having more classes, and changing the date. Duvessa made a motion to move the date to the last weekend in September and Kara seconded the motion. The motion passed. Giles will call Camp Mowana to check on availability and costs.

•Cook's Symposium - 12/11
Giles reported that there are 17 classes scheduled, including three being taught by Laurels. He requested permission to invite Their RoyalHighnesses, Alaric & Noelle. There was discussion of where to put the Royal Room, who to invite to be the Royal Liaison, and who to put in charge of Royal Guards. These were tabled until an invitation has been extended and accepted.

New business:

There was discussion about changing the meeting night again as the group isunable to use the church basement while the Boy Scouts are meeting there. Duvessa made a motion to change the meeting night to Thursday and Kara seconded the motion. The motion passed. It was decided to begin the new meeting night with the next business meeting on December 2.

Duvessa suggested that we consider hosting next fall's Crown Tournament. There was discussion about whether we can field the manpower to host it and what site to use. Giles pointed out that Fall Crown is usually held in the second half of September and that we had just decided to hold Hastings then. He also mentioned that if we skip a year on a struggling event, that we probably would have to start over the following year. The discussion was tabled pending site availability and costs for Hastings III.

Our shire is hosting the December meeting and revel for the Barony. Aine will check into the availability of St Luke's for holding the meeting, which will be on Sunday, 12/5, from 2 to 4.

Ulf suggested that for our Christmas revel we all make ornaments for an ornament exchange. He also asked that if anyone wants him to look for bookson specific topics, to contact him and he'all put in on the shire wish list.

There is a demo in Caer Byrbryd on Friday, 11/19, from 12:30 to 2:00. Giles, John, and Faoileann will be attending. Anyone wanting to attend is welcome.

The meeting on 11/9 will be devoted to cheese making. Giles will be teaching how to make a simple acid-drop cheese that takes about an hour. He has offered to teach the Boy Scouts also, and they have agreed.

The meeting on 11/16 will be for sewing garb.
