Old Business:

Encampment at the Castle IV - No report due to waiting on receipts, but initial accounting shows a small loss.

Hastings - We will be holding Hastings II at Camp Mowana, a Lutheran camp on the NE side of Mansfield, on October 16. We will be allowed to set up on Friday and break down on Sunday before noon. The site has a nice hill, an archery range, and flushies and showers and NO BUGS. They will allow merchants and alcohol with feast. They're asking $175 for the site and a $25 flat fee for tables and chairs with a 50% deposit. The shire approved writing a check for $100 for the deposit.

Cook's Symposium - The Oaken Regional Cook's Symposium is on the calendar for December 11.

Demos - We did or assisted with three demos in the Middle Marches. Two were held for branches of the Mt. Vernon library and they gave us $250 for coming to their aid.

New Business:

The shire needs Rubbermaid tubs for storing Gold Key and other supplies. A motion was made by Peter and seconded by several for purchasing said tubs. The motion was passed.

There was discussion about the best way for the shire to acquire kitchen and serving ware. A motion was made Peter to use the Norman Voluntary Tax collected at each meeting for this purpose for the duration of one year. The motion was seconded by Giles and passed by the populace.

Next week's meeting will be devoted to making sheet walls for Pennsic and answering questions for anyone who is going to Pennsic for the first time. There will also be an armored fighter practice.

The meeting adjourned at 8:20.
