Old Business:
•Hastings
- 10/16
Giles reported that we need a feastocrat for Hastings as Frederick has
mundane issues. Duvessa and Kara volunteered to take over that aspect
and Ulf will be the merchantocrat. The secretary at Mowana had asked
if the other groups using the camp that day would be allowed to come
see what we're doing. Faoileann suggested that this might work if we
run a 'tour group' several times during the day. Truffie volunteered
to be the tour guide. Faoileann will call to find out how many people
will be at the camp that day. Peter indicated that having a back-up
MIC would be valuable as he may not be with us that long. We also need
a source of straw for the event.
Anya indicated that Mowana is holding hay rides the day after the event
and might be a possible source. Faoileann will ask about that when she
calls.
•Cook's
Symposium - 12/11
Duvessa reported that the choir would be using the choir room at about
5:00 the day of the event. Giles said he would work around that when
scheduling classes. He then asked if anyone in the shire was interested
in teaching. Anya and Truffie said they would teach book-binding and
leather working, respectively. Giles asked that they get class descriptions
to him soon.
New business:
While at War, the
attending members of the shire (seneschal, knight's marshal, exchequer,
& 3 populace) got a good deal on rattan and voted to purchase 10
sticks at $15.00 each. They will be sold at the market rate of $20.00
each. Anyone interested in purchasing some should contact Peter or Giles.
•Encampment
at the Castle V
Faoileann made a motion that the date of Encampment be June 17-19, 2005.
Peter seconded the motion and it was passed. She also asked for a co-autocrat;
Kara volunteered to perform in that capacity. There was some discussion
about using the guard room this year for feast. Faoileann will check
on the price and availability. The shire also approved making a $100
deposit on the site.
Officer
changes
Mundane life has
taken away our Herald, Chatelaine, and Minister of Arts & Sciences.
The shire approved the following replacements:
Herald - Lady Duvessa of Movilla; Chatelaine - Lady Anya the Dreamseeker;
MOAS - Mistress Leah bint Salah
Peter also told
us that he and his lady are currently seeking employment in South Carolina
and will be moving sometime in the next couple of months. He then discussed
the qualifications of the job of Seneschal.
Meeting
place
Since Frederick was also our OSU liaison and cannot continue in that
capacity, we need to find a meeting place for the winter. Suggestions
include St. Luke's Lutheran Church, St. Timothy's Lutheran Church, and
the Kingwood Center gatehouse. Anya will check on St. Luke's, and Duvessa
will check on the other two.
There being no
other business, the meeting adjourned at 8:00 PM. |
