Unto all good gentles of cote armour, do I Baron Gregoire de Lyon tenan of the Couter of Chivalry and Champion of Her Most Radiant Majesty Anne Marie, issue greetings and a challenge.

For the honor of Her Majesty AnneMarie, I shall stand the field at the Tournament of the Unicorn and face all who would accept my challenge. Venans should present themselves and their consort (*) to Her Majesty. All venans should bring a token of the esteem they have for Her Majesty and present it appropriately.

The venan may propose the terms of the combat, choosing from the following options: standard SCA rules, five counted blows, a continuous combat until Her Majesty feels that sufficient prowess has been displayed.

The combat will be chosen from the following at the venans’ and her Majesty’s discretion: sword and shield, sword and buckler, matched pollaxes.

As tenan , I shall have on hand 1 dozen red roses. At the completion of each challenge, assuming that Her Majesty is satisfied with the vigor of the contest, I will present the challenger or his/her consort with a single bloom.

In service to Her Majesty and the Middle Kingdom,
Baron Gregoire de Lyon

* - Challengers without a consort are encouraged to participate as well!
